My Story
I began my educational journey in nursing where I discovered my passion in the mental health field. I have since earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and received my License as a Professional Counselor in the State of Texas.
I have extensive experience working with people who have been diagnosed with serious mental health issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar, major depressive disorder, anxiety, personality disorders to list a few.
I worked with a mental health community center where I obtained experience in psychosocial rehabilitation working as:
- A Counselor
- A Diagnostician for services
- A Crisis Worker
- An Intake Worker

While working at the mental health community center, I obtained my training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is used for managing depression, anxiety, some personality disorders along with other diagnoses. During this time, I also received training and experience in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I have obtained experience at a dual-diagnosis drug rehabilitation residential facility in the Dallas area where the residents were judicial offenders who not only experienced a diagnosed mental health disorder but also some form of substance abuse.
I continue to study other disciplines and the newest techniques that have been proven successful. I am a believer in change being a constant of life. I continually pursue new and additional avenues of study, and am sincere about sharing this knowledge with others who want to bring positive change to their lives.
Always learning...Always growing!
